About SSEDSO

The Solar System Exploration Data Services Office was formed in January, 2005, as part of the Goddard transformation. The new office is code 690.1, and is part of the Solar System Exploration Division in the Sciences and Exploration Directorate.

The office is composed of the National Space Science Data Center (code 633) and the Crustal Dynamics Data Information System (code 922); a third group, the project management for the Planetary Data System was added to the office in spring 2005. Amongst the three groups are 6 civil servants and 30 contractors with a mix of talents in astrophysics, computer science, planetary science and space physics.
